Cancer rehabilitation at Greenwich Hospital got a boost last month for its STAR certification program, thanks to a $50,000 grant from Rose-Marie and Jack R. Anderson.
The Survivorship Training and Rehabilitation (STAR) program, known as the gold standard, enables medical professionals to develop advanced oncology rehabilitation skills. The goal is to improve the quality of life for survivors who experience side effects from treatment.
STAR training will be ongoing this winter for a range of Greenwich Hospital physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, nurses, social workers, and counselors.
