The Rye Arts Center will be hosting a juried photography exhibit by The Ground Glass photography organization through May 2.
The exhibit features a collection of 35 images of landscapes, still lifes, street photography, and abstract imagery by members of The Ground Glass, an association of amateur and professional photographers that promotes photography through shows like the one at the arts center as well as with workshops and speaker events.
The Rye exhibit images were selected by Brian Paul Clamp, an internationally recognized authority on American art and photography. Clamp owns the Clamp Gallery in Manhattan.
“From documentary work to abstracted landscape imagery and experimentally printed photographs on gold leaf, the range of practices represented among The Ground Glass members is a delight,” Clamp said. “I appreciate the opportunity to jury the 49th annual show, and am impressed by the association’s resilience and longevity, particularly in light of the significant technological advancements over that period of time.”
The arts center, at 51 Milton Road in Rye, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. More information can be obtained at the center’s website at www.ryeartscenter.org.
