Since 1928, the Don Bosco Community Center in Port Chester has served immigrant and other poor minority youth and their families. It is a welcoming place where kids can get a leg up, learn, and have fun.

Since 1928, the Don Bosco Community Center in Port Chester has served immigrant and other poor minority youth and their families. It is a welcoming place where kids can get a leg up, learn, and have fun.
For many years, Rye families have helped the center continue to build on its success. The evening of November 6, many of those supporters were at the Apawamis Club for “Don Bosco Dreams,” a benefit honoring community service and raising funds for their educational programs.
Rye’s Kate and Bob Niehaus received the Mission and Excellence Award. The Youth Service Award was presented to Alexandra and Samantha Bluvol for their contributions to the center’s two educational initiatives: the Early Language and Literacy Program and the Scholars Program.
The most heartwarming moment was when the Don Bosco Scholars were honored for their achievements.
