Head of School Ann Sullivan announced the appointment of Peter Haley as Holy Child’s new Director of Physical Education/Associate Director of Athletics, effective July 1. He also will serve as head varsity soccer coach at the school.
Head of School Ann Sullivan announced the appointment of Peter Haley as Holy Child’s new Director of Physical Education/Associate Director of Athletics, effective July 1. He also will serve as head varsity soccer coach at the school.
Haley has had a distinguished career in education and is a 31-year veteran of college coaching. He comes to Holy Child from Springfield College, where he served as an associate professor of physical education and head coach of men’s soccer. Haley ended his 27-year coaching career at Springfield with more than 200 victories.
“Mr. Haley brings not only athletic administrative experience but also a vast background in coaching,” said Sullivan, who describes Springfield College as ‘the MIT of PE’.
Haley said he’s eager to get started and is grateful for the warm welcome he has already received from administrators and faculty.
“From my very first visit to Holy Child I was drawn to the strong academic, co-curricular, and community culture that is palpable when you walk the halls and meet the students, faculty, and staff. Holy Child has a talented and dedicated faculty and top-tier coaches.”
Haley is a graduate of Springfield College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education/athletic training and a master’s degree in administration. Prior to working at Springfield, he coached for four years at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
