Six players on School of the Holy Child’s varsity field hockey team were recently named to the 2011 National Academic Squad. The six honorees include seniors Helen Brosnan, Jessica Cordasco, Molly Fitzwilliam, Catherine Anne Gray, Paige Kennedy, and Mary Clare Manfred.
Six players on School of the Holy Child’s varsity field hockey team were recently named to the 2011 National Academic Squad. The six honorees include seniors Helen Brosnan, Jessica Cordasco, Molly Fitzwilliam, Catherine Anne Gray, Paige Kennedy, and Mary Clare Manfred.
“We are proud of our talented student-athletes, who distinguish themselves on the playing field while excelling in the classroom,” said John Pizzi, Director of Athletics. “Tremendous discipline and dedication are required to achieve such a feat.”
According to Pizzi, all honorees have been significant contributors to the team’s success. Over the past two seasons, the Gryphons have made NYSAIS semifinal and final appearances and posted a combined record of 23-13-3.
Players named to the National Academic Squad must have attained a minimum overall grade point average of 3.5 through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
