On a recent winter’s morning, members of Rye’s local garden clubs, landscape designers, and garden enthusiasts donned their wellies for a look around the Jay Heritage meadow, the oldest managed meadow in New York. They then headed to the Van Norden Carriage House for lunch and a presentation by famed landscape architect Larry Weaner on “New Life for An Old Meadow – Replacing Invasives with Natives.”

Prizes were given for the most creative design — welly done ladies.
