James Winfield Dutton died February 29, 2020 in Wilson, North Carolina. He was 67.
Born March 26, 1952 in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., he was the son of Claire Audrey (Lyon) and Leland Bartrum Dutton. After graduating from Rye High School in 1970, he received an Associate in Applied Science degree in Architectural Technology from Duchess Community College and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Pace University.
Mr. Dutton began his career in the architectural field, designing office buildings in Greenwich, Conn. and Boston. He later left to work with his father, who had a car dealership in Pawling, N.Y. He started his own business designing and building homes in Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Most recently, he had his own auto procurement and auto detailing businesses in New York and Virginia.
“Jimmy will always be remembered for his contagious laugh and his crazy sense of humor,” said his sister Barbara Dutton. “He enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephew and his many friends along the East Coast of the United States.”
In addition to his sister, Mr. Dutton is survived by his niece, Ashleigh Claire Piro, and his nephew, Tyler James Piro, all of Trumbull, Conn.
The family will receive friends and family at Graham Funeral Home on March 11, from 11-12 pm. A Prayer Service will be held immediately afterwards, and Mr. Dutton will be buried at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.
