Joan (Joanie) Marie Williamson, age 75, passed away April 16 in Portland, Maine. She was born in Bronxville and grew up in Rye.
Joan graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart, in Greenwich, Conn. and Finch College in Manhattan.
After college, she worked for many years as a paralegal at Satterlee Stephens in NYC.
Joan loved being by the water which is what drew her to Portland, Maine. She enjoyed the feel of small towns and loved Christmas and Thanksgiving. She spent her time enjoying theatre, knitting, doing needlework, and traveling while energizing all she did with a classic, engaging, wry sense of humor.
She was loved by her extended family which reaches from the East Coast, the Midwest, and the West Coast, to Alaska.
Joanie is predeceased by her father, A. Fred Williamson, in 1988, her brother, Frederick E. Williamson, in 1997, and her mother, Jean Williamson, in 2015.
She is survived by her sisters Jean Williamson Cole and Janet Williamson. A private service will be held in Maine this summer.

They provided loving care, comfort, and company in Joan’s final time, for which her family and friends are forever grateful.
