Kathleen Campbell Steinthal of Rye and formerly White Plains, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 27. She was 85.
Kay was born in Brooklyn on June 1, 1939 to John and Catherine Campbell. She was the beloved wife of the late M. Bradley Steinthal Jr. A devout Catholic, Kay attended Mass daily at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye following many years at Our Lady of Sorrows. Kay and Brad were fixtures at both Archbishop Stepinac and Holy Child, where her children attended high school.
Perhaps nobody liked hosting more than Kay. Starting with the neighborhood children on Avondale Road, through many Christmas Eves there, countless dinners, and other parties were all made better by Kay. Quick with a kind word and always present, people were drawn to Kay, and Kay loved people.
Kay loved spending time at Winged Foot Golf Club, which she and Brad enjoyed for more than 60 years. Above all, she loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Kay is survived by her loving children: Brad (Susan), Stephen (Anne), and Catherine Gluck (Michael); and her cherished grandchildren, Honor, Grace, Luke, and Lauren Steinthal, and Timmy and Peter Gluck.
A memorial mass will be held for Kay at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Church of the Resurrection.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Resurrection School Foundation or a charity of your choice.
