Keren A. Phillips, “Kerry,” of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 10, after a two-year battle with cancer.
Kerry was born in New York City on April 23, 1968, daughter of Earle and Judy Kazis. She was raised in Rye, attending Osborn School, Rye Middle School, and graduating from Rye High School in 1986. She graduated from Lehigh University in 1991 and CUNY Medical School in 1996 where she completed her medical degree in Adolescent Pediatrics. She received a secondary board certification at North Shore University Hospital in Great Neck, New York. She completed her medical residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
Kerry was a loving wife to Brad Phillips for 25 years. She was a caring and devoted mother to Jordan and Samantha Phillips. She was a loving sister to Deborah Kazis. She was a wonderful aunt and cousin to too many people to list!
Kerry loved life. She enjoyed being with her family. She knew how to do the hard stuff but also how to relax and have fun. She was an amazing and loyal friend to so many. She had lasting and meaningful relationships with those from her childhood and from the places she lived and traveled over the years. Her “happy place” was at the beach where she loved her daily exercise walks.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
