At the last City Council meeting of the year, December 16, after passing a tax cap-compliant 2016 City budget, members gave what Mayor Joe Sack termed a “bittersweet” sendoff to outgoing members Laura Brett and Richard Slack.
The Council also authorized the City Manager to sign a $2.519 million settlement with TessenderloKerley, Inc., the maker of the product that contaminated the Rye Golf Club greens last spring.
The Inaugural ceremony, at which newly elected members Emily Hurd, Richard Mecca, and Danielle Tagger-Epstein will be sworn in, will be held Sunday, January 3 at City Hall.
