We peeked outside and life was pretty much back to normal — after nature’s two-week rampage. All the trees and wires that could have fallen have done so, and where there were downed trees, destruction, and obstacles have mostly been removed or neatly piled. The gas lines are a thing of the past, and let’s hope they stay that way.

We all have our favorite stories to share of what we did when the lights went out. Betting there will be a surge in the birth rate as a result of Sandy and Athena.
If there were a few harsh words in family rooms because everyone was home, there were just as many magical moments. Life unconnected was pretty darn wonderful.
