To the Editor:

After a recent trip to Home Depot, I loaded up my car and returned the cart to the corral.

When I got home, I realized I had left my wallet in the cart. I raced back to Home Depot and checked the carts, customer service, and the cashier where I had checked out.

No wallet! I raced home to cancel all my cards.

About a half hour later, my doorbell rang, and I found a sweet man on my porch. He asked if I was Anna (close enough). He really messed up my last name. Then he opened his jacket and (wait for it), he had my wallet! He had found it in my cart, but didn’t want to bring it into the store because “you never know what might happen to it in there.”

So, he looked in my wallet and found my license. He even showed me where he had taken out my license to get my address and then put it back in different spot. And then he and his wife got in their car and hand-delivered it to me.

I gave him $20 (all I had), which he said he would donate to someone or some place in need. I was overwhelmed to have my wallet — and by this dear man. Of course, I was all full of tears.

Thank you, Tony Viscogliosi!
