A cavalcade of creators who live in Rye, but whose reputations go far beyond the city limits, have signed on to perform original stories at “Rye Lives” on Nov. 10.
Despite leading busy lives, the performers quickly agreed to create new material and perform it at “Rye Lives” because they value having a strong local newspaper in a community they hold dear.
Best-selling author Lee Woodruff said she is excited to participate because she and her husband, Bob, a former ABC co-anchor, “are STILL proud to call Rye home” 24 years after moving here from London.
“Our Rye neighbors supported us in so many ways after Bob was injured by a roadside bomb while reporting in Iraq in 2006,” Woodruff recalled. “This is such a generous community that has helped us raise more than $200 million over the years for the Bob Woodruff Foundation to assist wounded service members and their families.”
In addition to Woodruff, presenters on Nov. 10 include:
- Andrea Canning: NBC Dateline correspondent and the author of 30 movies for the Hallmark and Lifetime channels
- Richard Giacovas: FOX 5 News reporter who will serve as the event’s emcee
- Andrea Hessekiel: Rye Record deputy editor and a contributor to national publications, including the Washington Post
- Paul Jensen: A public relations veteran who refocused himself on writing and performing “alt-country” music in 2020
- Steven Kearney: A nationally known voice actor who was named 2026 NY Press Association Sportswriter of the Year for his coverage of local sports for The Rye Record
Tickets are now available at www.ryerecord.com/rye-lives for this event supporting The Rye Record.
Desserts and drinks will be provided by Winfield Street Coffee, the event’s sponsor. Tax-deductible contributions made now through Nov. 10 will be matched (up to a total of $10,000) by The Joe & Sandy Samberg Foundation.
The Rye Record is an independent local news organization committed to informing and engaging the public with its coverage of the community. The Rye Record is supported by advertising revenue and tax-deductible contributions to The Rye Record Foundation for Community News.
