Local restaurants extended a hand to My Sister’s Place, an organization that helps battered women, at the annual A Taste of Rye event on Saturday, Sept. 21 in downtown Rye.

The event showcases local eateries that agree to offer a drink and one appetizer to all patrons who have paid the $65 ticket price. This year’s dining spots were familiar downtown names, but included newcomer Gordito Kitchen. Patrons spilled out of Gordito and its older sister Rafele Rye on Saturday afternoon as blue skies and warm weather welcomed the eaters.

Participating shops included Aurora, The Granola Bar, Rafele Rye, The Rye Grill & Bar, Bareburger, Gordito Kitchen, Ruby’s Oyster Bar & Bistro, and Village Social Kitchen & Bar.
