In the over 20 years we’ve lived in Rye, Lori Fontanes stands out as an exemplary candidate for Rye City Council.
Lori’s track record of service in our community is impressive. Her knowledge of environmental and safety issues combined with follow-through and accomplishment will make her an impactful City Council member.
Lori is not only highly qualified, but also values the citizens of Rye. She listens, learns, and acts based on what issues are most important to our present and future quality of life. Like all educators, Lori is also a lifelong learner, digging deep into any issue to understand its source and practical solution.
As a combat veteran and spouse, as well as chaplain/organizer during 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, we’ve sat at-table with many troops and first responders. There is a unique character formation that comes from early exposure to these environments. Perhaps more important than qualifications are values. Lori’s upbringing in a family of first responders directly affects her principles and standards. Principles that prioritize community over personal interests. During these challenging times, commitment to community is imperative.
When Lori Fontanes sits on Rye’s City Council, we will have a responsive, accessible, and knowledgeable representative capable of taking right action for the collective well-being.
