On November 15, 130 people shook off the aftereffects of super storm Sandy and packed into Wainwright House to celebrate SPRYE’s first anniversary. They enjoyed wine, passed hors d’oeuvres, and music by Donna Cribari.
The event honored retiring State Senator Suzi Oppenheimer for her long advocacy for the elderly, as well as her attention to other needs in her district. Also present were two newly elected officials, State Senator George Latimer and Assemblyman Steve Otis, along with City Councilman Joe Sack.
SPRYE member and guest Joe Murphy said the event was a “love fest” at which senior citizens laughed and talked with old friends and embraced new ones. “It was a fantastic affair at which good feelings abounded.”
