The Rye Historical Society’s spring luncheon usually focuses on life in the old days, when Rye was a colonial outpost, a village, and finally a city. But not this year. On March 28, the speaker was young adult author, humorist, and parental pundit Annabel Monaghan, who regaled us with stories of what it’s like to be a mom today. She brought the house down or, in this case, the Apawamis Club dining room, with tales of navigating the hostile CVS parking lot and beyond in today’s frontier.
