Thomas F. Turco, born in February 1934 in Washington, D.C., passed away in April 2026 in New York at the age of 92. He lived a full and accomplished life marked by service, leadership, and devotion to his family.
Tom was a standout athlete, serving as football captain and excelling in baseball. He graduated from Western High School in Washington, D.C., before attending the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in economics.
Tom proudly served his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force, where he subsequently was selected and flew in the Strategic Air Command, achieving the rank of major.
Following his military service, Tom began a distinguished career with Milliken & Company, then the largest privately held textile and chemical company. He directed the company’s sales and marketing operations and led its New York office with diligence and vision. He was loyal to Milliken for his entire 50-year career.
A man of many talents, Tom was also a gifted musician who played the piano, guitar, accordion, and drums. He could read music but also listen and play anything by ear. He was a longtime member of Westchester Country Club and the Union League Club of New York.
Above all, Tom was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Anne L. Turco; his sons, Thomas F. Turco, Jr., Keith Turco (Andrea), and Ward Turco; his daughter, Lauren Turco Neal (James); and his four cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Kevin, Kristen, and Jed.
Tom will be remembered as a caring and selfless man whose warmth, optimism, and genuine concern for those he encountered touched all who knew him. We love you eternally, Pops. You are a hero for so many. Thank you for being our heart and soul.
A private service and burial will be held in remembrance of Tom. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date. The family would like to thank everyone for their unwavering love and support.
