Madelyn Jordon Fine Art in Scarsdale exhibits paintings by Lawrence Kelsey through April 20.
Images of Manhattan have been the main focus of Kelsey’s work for over 20 years. The artist’s work reveals the poetry and rhythm of urban life, reflected in its streets, bridges, and waterways. Many of Kelsey’s paintings depict the city after the sun goes down, transforming buildings and streets into a pulsating spectacle.
Born in Ohio, Kelsey moved to New York with his family at the age of 3, and was raised in New Rochelle. He attended the Art Students League, studying with Vaclav Vytlacil and Beverly Hale. His work is included in numerous private and public collections, including the New-York Historical Society.
