Patricia Ann Lahey, most recently of Margate, Florida, died on March 10, 2021.
Born on March 13, 1934, she was the daughter of Irene (Savage) and William Kennedy of New Rochelle. She graduated from the Ursuline School in 1952 and went on to Katharine Gibbs School. For a number of years, she worked in New York City as an executive secretary.
She married Lee Lahey on September 3, 1971 and they moved to Rye, where she became a realtor, working at Coldwell Banker and Houlihan Lawrence. Mrs. Lahey was also a devoted volunteer at United Hospital and St. Vincent’s Hospital, and other local charities.
After moving to Florida in 1998, she served on the board and was president of her community’s homeowner’s association.
A devout Catholic all her life, she was an active member of Resurrection parish in Rye and St. Vincent’s parish in Margate.
“Pat was an extremely kind-hearted, enthusiastic, entertaining, and devout woman who loved her family fiercely and always had a smile on her face,” said her daughter, Megan Sibley. “Though her loss is hard for those she left behind, the family takes solace that she is by her husband Lee, whom she loved dearly and lost far too early.”
Mrs. Lahey was predeceased by her husband of nearly 40 years, Lee Lahey, in 2001. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by She is survived by her son-in-law Steve Sibley, and her grandchildren Griffin, Keelin, and Rory.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 18 at Church of the Resurrection, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook.
Donations in Patricia Lahey’s memory may be made to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Harrison.
