Teresa C. Infantino, a 28-year resident of Rye, passed away on September 21, 2019. She was 99.
Born on September 12, 1920 in Greenwich Village, she was the daughter of Ferdinando Chanoux and Carolina DeStefano. She began her working career at RH Macy in 1936. From 1944 to 1947 she worked for the Army Exchange Service. In 1951, she joined Combe Incorporated, as a bookkeeper. She retired 50 years later, as an executive vice president.
“Our mom lived and loved her job,” said her daughter Patricia. “She would have been happy to work forever.”
A member of the American Management Society, Westchester Chapter and Soroptimist International, Mrs. Infantino also chaired the Roundtable of Health, and County Chamber of Commerce, and served as the nominating chair of United Way of Westchester. She received numerous awards from various organizations in Westchester.
She married Vincent Infantino, a marriage lasting over 47 years. He died on December 6, 1989.
In addition to her daughter, Patricia (John) Johnson, Mrs. Infantino is survived by her son, Robert (Dorothy) Infantino; two grandchildren: Andrew (Jodi) Johnson and Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Katz; and five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Sydney, Mitchel, Halle, and Alexandra. She was predeceased by her brother Louis, who died in 1934.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated September 25 at the Church of the Resurrection. Donations in Teresa Infantino’s memory may be made to the ALS Foundation.
