Senator Suzi Oppenheimer and Mayor Doug French both voiced their strong support for SPRYE’s mission to help area seniors remain in their homes and active in their communities for as long as possible.
Betti Weimersheimer, Executive Director, described SPRYE services, which include free transportation to medical and other key appointments, handyman services, and senior discounts from local merchants. She also presented an update on educational, cultural, and social events, from museum visits to luncheon meetings.
Many of the attendees signed up as members and/or volunteers. Some of the memberships were gifts from adult children.
SPRYE President Tom Saunders invited those who are thinking of joining to do so now and enjoy membership privileges for 15 months. More information is available at sprye.org or by calling 481-5706.
