Midland and Osborn schools are moving forward with the installation of long-anticipated modular classrooms to replace old portable units that have been in use for more than 20 years.
While the new modular wings were originally scheduled to arrive in July, fabrication delays pushed delivery back until August. The units have now reached both schools where they have begun the craning process, according to a district press release.
Once all units are installed, officials will set a timeline for the necessary interior work to prepare the classrooms for students and staff. In the meantime, both schools have made alternate arrangements to ensure every class has a dedicated space, allowing for a smooth return to the classroom, which began on Tuesday.+
The upgrades mark a significant step in modernizing the district’s elementary school facilities, providing students with safer, more functional classrooms after decades of relying on aging infrastructure.
