Part of Oakland Beach Avenue will be closed overnight this week as the City of Rye works to repair a section of sewer main.
A quarter-mile stretch of Oakland Beach Avenue, between Allendale Drive and Chamberlain Street, will be closed to all traffic, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route to avoid delays during this time. A larger section of Oakland Beach Avenue will be limited to local traffic, a 0.7-mile stretch of Oakland Beach Avenue, from Highway 1 to Milton Road.
Detours will send traffic farther north, directing drivers to cross the Blind Brook via Playland Parkway, rather than Oakland Beach Avenue during construction.
