A 13 year-old male was hit by a car around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at the corner of Midland and Apawamis Avenues.
A 13 year-old male was hit by a car around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at the corner of Midland and Apawamis Avenues. The victim was skateboarding down the hill on Apawamis, and appeared to be trying to turn left onto Midland Avenue in front of the vehicle, when he was struck by the southbound vehicle.
The victim was brought to Sound Shore Hospital with a possible broken leg and lower back pain. Initial witness accounts indicate that the vehicle had the green light and speed was not a factor.
