Rye softball doubled up Rye Neck in a 12-6 road win Tuesday, led by Penelope Gilmore’s performance pitching and at the plate.
The junior threw a complete game, allowing four earned runs and striking out five to earn the win. On offense, she went 2-for-3 with a double, triple, and three runs scored.
Sophomore Sophiah Collins also had a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
Eighth-grader Gigi Gilmore had a three-run triple, and senior Charlotte Dinger drove in two runs with a double. Other Garnets to get hits were senior Ava Rollano, juniors Reese McGill and Caroline Joyce, and sophomore Emma Stark.
Rye (4-11) will try for its third win in a one-week span on Thursday against Nanuet (4-10).
