Peter Evan Freilich, 51, a resident of Rye, New York, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2020, after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 51.
Born on October 31, 1968, he was the son of Richard and Lucille (Lops) Freilich. He was raised in Scarsdale, New York. After graduating from Scarsdale High School in 1986, he attended Villanova University, where he earned a degree in Accounting, and shortly thereafter attained a law degree from The University of Akron School of Law.
He began his professional career in 1996 at KPMG LLP in New York City, where he met the love of his life, Melissa Cafaro. They were married on August 7, 1998, in New York City.
Outside of his love for his family, who meant everything to him, everyone knew that his love for basketball was paramount. His knowledge of the game and desire to share his passion with others was extraordinary. For everyone whom he impacted on the basketball court, they will forever know that Coach Peter is right there with them.
In addition to his devoted wife Melissa, son Tyler, and daughters Madison, Hannah, and Katherine, he is survived by his mother Lucille, sister Julianne Manolakakis (Nick), his nieces and nephew, and many others he held close to his heart. He was predeceased by his father Richard.
