A plan is underway to revise the league rules to align with the existing Middle and High School programs, in order to prepare the girls for a smooth transition. There is even a scholarship program awarding $2,000 per annum to dedicated girls. The program, led by Sarah Ball, is a wonderful example of how a community can come together to provide new and valuable athletic experiences for young girls.
Registration is open for a late summer clinic, August 31-September 4 from 4-7 at Disbrow Field. A minimum of 30 girls is needed. The registration fee is $150. Two groups will be offered: 3rd-5th graders and 6th-8th graders. Register at www.ryegirlssoftball.com.
