6/15: Coyote sighting, 1:58 a.m., Milton Road and Fernwood Avenue.

6/15: Naval Hazard. Officers removed 16 X 16 foot abandoned barge from channel, coordinating with DPW and American Yacht Club.

6/15: Who’s going to tell mom? Nest with two eggs located aboard a barge being dismantled. Recovered, taken to Rye Nature Center.

6/15: A walk-in reported a bike stolen from her property on Grace Church Street on 6/14.

6/15: Under-swerved. Report of Honda CRV swerving from lane to lane on BPR by Hornridge Road. Stopped by officer, driver identified, alert, okay to drive.

6/15: Report of youths in woods alongside I-95 underpass by brook at Mendota Avenue/Ridgewood Drive. Gone on arrival.

6/15: Caller reported six to eight youths behind Purchase Street restaurant possibly smoking marijuana. Car dispatched.

6/16: Vessel in Distress. VHF call, vessel hit west rock, being towed into Mamaroneck Harbor. Struck reef east of west rock.

6/17: Caller reported finding ipod at Locust Avenue and Ridgewood Drive.

6/17: Observed two males on paddle boards in Milton Harbor. One not wearing a PFD (Personal Floatation Device). Advised of NYS safety regulations.

6/17: Let’s play none! Caller reported unauthorized persons using Rye Neck Field. Males playing baseball on west field. Asked to leave, complied.

6/17: Coyote sighted near Hunter Lane at 7:30 p.m.

6/17: How many hits could a woodchuck get if a …? Report of a woodchuck caught in batting cage netting, near Oakland Beach Avenue. Freed from netting.

6/18: Report of a highly intoxicated female in a white GMC Denali at Stuyvesant/Van Wagenen avenues.

6/19: Report of raccoon appearing sick in front of Peter Jay Lane residence.

6/19: Coyote sighted in backyard on Locust Avenue, then seen running across road by Theodore Fremd/Ridgewood Drive.

6/19: Caller reported man wearing a holstered firearm walking a dog on Sanford Street by Forest Avenue.

6/19: Centre Street caller reported group of 35 youths making noise, disturbing his peace, keeping him awake. Youth birthday party revelers promised to keep noise down.

6/20: Caller reported group of kids habitually congregating I.F.O. his house.

6/21: Suspicious vehicle reported parked near tide mill, Kirby Lane and Van Renssalear Road. Several youths exited vehicle, entered woods.

6/21: Librarian reported homeless person, possibly intoxicated, passed out on bench near library.

6/21: Theodore Fremd caller reported large number of under-aged drinkers in nearby apartment. Group dispersed.

6/22: Caller reported suspicious male, dressed all in black soliciting in Hewlett and Fairway avenues area.

6/22: Caller reported solicitors around Midland Avenue. Public interest group conducting a survey. Proper permits from Rye City.

6/22: Speaker clamming up? Capitol Police request officer in area of Ruby’s where they would be with protectee. Speaker of House dining locally. Secret Service detail.

6/22: Officer on detail at Rye Rec called for ambulance for intoxicated youth. EMS dispatched.

6/23: Report of a party chain-sawing tree prior to 10 a.m. ordinance time. Advised of City Code.

6/23: Leaf blowers shut down at Forest Avenue/Redfield Street. Contractor advised. Rock chippers shut down at Forest/Van Wagenen avenues.

6/23: Caller reported people drinking at party on Garden Drive, throwing beer cans all over street. Parents arrived, handled situation.

6/23: Clams Crash-ino? Caller reported his car was hit while parked at Seaside Johnnies.

6/24: Caller reported youth driving off road vehicle on road. Youth and vehicle turned over to parent.

6/24: Rye Hospital caller reported missing 22-year-old white female last seen wearing blue shirt, blue pants unknown direction of travel.

6/25: Complainant stated someone withdrew $1,000 from her mother’s bank account via an ATM.

6/25: Caller reported unknown party gained access to his account to upgrade to a newer phone without his permission or authority.

6/26: Hunter/Sunset Lane caller reported his vehicle was broken into overnight.

6/26: Not modular enough. Truck carrying a modular home was stuck under bridge at Purchase Street and Cedar Street.

6/26: Caller reported unknown person following and videotaping him in Car Park #2.

6/26: Caller reported youths drinking and possibly smoking marijuana at Gagliardo Park/High Street/Clinton Avenue. Warned and released.

6/27: Rye Brook PD reported home invasion on North Street with person shot. Turned out to be 14-year-old “swatting” hoax. Youth later charged with false report and reckless endangerment. 

6/28: Looking for her flock? Caller reported large shepherd on Florence Avenue, walking towards Park Avenue unattended.

6/29: Caller reported four people sleeping in white Honda Civic parked in lot by Rye Beach Pharmacy. Party waiting for Playland to open.

6/29: Officer on patrol observed coyotes, mid-afternoon by Playland Parkway and Milton Road.

6/29: Caller stated that several construction cones were removed from street and placed on his property at Wappanocca Avenue and Highland Road.

6/30: DPW requested officer at Recycling Center, where worker was having issue with citizen trying to dump recyclables at gate. Situation corrected.

6/30: Barlow Lane caller reported raccoon stuck in garbage can.

6/30: Officer reported wallet found at Milton Road and Rye Beach Avenue.

6/30: S’way too long to wait. Caller reported male wearing dark shorts, dark shirt standing on corner of Midland Avenue/Goldwin Street for four hours. Caller stated party was swaying. Party lived on Cedar Place, was waiting for bus.

6/30: Calls stated solicitors in Brevoort Lane area. Advised of City Code.

6/30: Caller reported solicitor harassing homeowners on Johnson Place/Devereux Court, also Upper Dogwood Lane.

7/1: Oakland Beach Avenue caller reported someone approached his residence. Ran when outside lights went on. Advised of prior vandalism, requested check of area. Negative results.

7/3: Report of utility worker being harassed by striking Con Ed workers.

7/3: Caller reported she needed to show police something. Sink hole on private property.

7/3: Female caller reported being followed by vehicle on I-95. Lost cell connection. Caller said she was driving a light blue Toyota Camry, Texas plates. NYSP notified.

7/3: Caller reported a large, possibly unsupervised party at Forest Avenue/Magnolia Place. Group dispersed, property owner on way home.

7/3: Report of a large group on Forest Avenue. Group moved along.

7/4: Money lawndered. Report of a Rockridge Road lawn in excess of 12 inches high. Summons issued.

7/4: Several reports of fireworks. Shocking!

7/4: Orchard Avenue resident stated she saw suspicious black male on cellphone possibly looking in cars. Left area in red BMW.

7/4: Officer injured in scuffle with arrestee.

7/5: Walk-in report filed regarding passport left in vehicle impounded by RPD over a year ago. Vehicle was discarded by tow-company.

7/5: Report of large tree limb knocking down power lines at Grace Church Street and Grapal Road.

7/5: Report of open manhole covers and parties who didn’t appear to be workers in roadway near Meadow Place and Highland Road. Parties doing dye test per City of Rye.

7/6: Report of property loitering and hanging political signs at Rye Post Office. Party informed, signs removed.

7/6: Operation Safeguard counter-terrorism check at Station Plaza. All appeared normal.

7/6: Caller reported a suspicious person on her Allendale Drive property at 3 p.m.

7/7: Two callers reported what sounded like gunfire near BPR and Osborn Road by Osborn School. Smell of fireworks upon check.

7/7: Caller reported he hosted party and a lot more kids showed up than expected. Unwanted guests asked to leave.

7/7: Caller reported two dogs locked in car on Purchase Street with windows up.

7/9: Theodore Fremd caller reported Con Ed strike getting loud. No loud noise observed, parties peaceful.

7/9: Caller reported fawn struck by vehicle on side of road by Community Synagogue.

7/10: Leaf blower use reported at Hook Road/Forest Avenue and Laurel Street/Orchard Avenue.

7/11: Woman reported her vehicle was struck while parked in YMCA lot. Witness stated he saw car hit by Nissan and gave NY plate number. Officer found Nissan on Locust Avenue parked in rear of residence with damage consistent with accident. Photos taken, note left on Nissan to contact police immediately.

7/11: Caller stated trash can in vicinity of Village Green emitting heavy smoke. FD notified. Witness stated two youths in shorts and T-shirts, one black/one yellow, standing next to trash and walking away moments prior to fire. Parties seen walking south by City Hall. Canvassed area, negative results.

7/11: Pool Skool. Stuyvesant Avenue caller stated unknown group of youths in her pool. Group left property, went to Barron Place home to a pool, where homeowners were away. GOA.

7/12: McCullough Place caller reported unauthorized charges on his debit card.

7/12: McCullough Place resident reported loss of her NYS handicap tag.

7/12: Westchester CC Beach Club caller stated that she saw coyote run into woods on Manursing Way by Club entranceway. Notation made on coyote log sheet.

7/12: VHF call regarding vessel, Reliant, stuck by buoy 38, engine not starting. Tow boat responded, vessel towed to New Rochelle.

7/14: Hardly seems fare. Taxi driver on Orchard Avenue stated he was waiting for his fare when a male in a sedan with CT plates came up and began making threatening remarks. Situation resolved.

7/14: Just trying to return “Make Room For Ducklings?” Caller stated duck was stuck in chimney at Rye Free Reading Room.

7/14: VHF call reported three people in the water by Scotch Caps. AYC launch retrieved all three, brought them to dock. Officers retrieved property from water. No injuries. Victims from Port Chester. Vessel sank.

7/15: Several vehicles reported locked in at Rye Town Park past midnight.
