A Westchester County jury this week convicted a 56-year-old Port Chester man for repeatedly sexually abusing a 12-year-old child.

Segundo Pucha-Carchi was convicted of multiple felonies on Wednesday, June 24, including sexual misconduct against a child, bribing and tampering with a witness, and criminal contempt.

“The horrific abuses experienced by this young child can never be erased by a jury’s verdict, no matter how resounding,” said Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace.

Pucha-Carchi repeatedly abused the child between December 2023 and October 2024, according to the investigation by the Port Chester Police Department. The perpetrator then sought to influence the child’s testimony, including through bribery and witness tampering, according to officials.

“We will continue to assist the victim and ensure they are provided with every resource needed to support their healing journey,” Cacace said. “I am only relieved that the defendant will now be made to answer for his unforgivable conduct, and that the jury saw through his attempts to smear the victim during trial.”

Pucha-Carchi, who will be sentenced on Aug. 11, faces up to 32 years in state prison. He is currently remanded at the Westchester County Jail.
