A Queens man was rearrested in Rye for the second time this month after police say they again discovered multiple fake driver’s licenses in his car during a traffic stop in Station Plaza — on the day he was to appear in court.

A Rye police officer spotted Ming Wu, 60, of Flushing, struggling to back his 2024 Volvo S60 out of a parking space in Station Plaza, repeatedly coming close to hitting a nearby car. Officers asked for his license and registration. Wu told police he did not have any identification, according to the a press release from the department.

However, officers found several driver’s licenses from New York, Texas, and New Jersey that did not belong to Wu. A wallet in his back pocket also contained a New York state license issued to another man from Flushing.

He was charged with possessing forged identification documents and unlawfully holding personal information belonging to others, both misdemeanor offenses.

Wu was previously caught on Purchase Street, on Oct. 13, after officers allegedly found him carrying several fake IDs, a knife, and what appeared to be drugs. He was due in Rye City Court Tuesday to face those charges.

The Flushing man is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 18.
