The Rye Country Day field hockey team completed their regular season play in style, beating Millbrook at home, 1-0.

Zoe Verni scored the game’s only goal on an assist from Mariana Lee. Goalkeeper Emma Santucci had 10 saves.

The win, the Wildcats’ fifth straight, gave them a solid season record of 12-3, which earned them the No. 1 seed in the NYSAISAA tournament and second seed in the Fairchester Athletic Association tournament. Tournament play resumes Thursday after delays caused by hurricane-related flooding and power outages.

Senior tri-captains Annie Grayer, Clare McClintock, and Eve Wulf along with senior Julie Kahn were honored at the last game. Coach Georgette Summers announced that after having some star players, including Grayer, sidelined for much of the season, the entire team is healthy and ready to participate in the state tournament. The team is set to host Horace Mann in a 1 p.m. game played Sunday at Hackley.
