Chris Marshall has been named managing editor of The Rye Record.
Marshall, who has been The Record’s sports editor for the last year, will direct news coverage for both print and digital, as well as newsletters, social media, and the podcast.
“Chris has done an outstanding job elevating our sports coverage, making it smart, fun, and timely,” said Record Editor-in-Chief and Co-Publisher Jon Elsen. “Now he’ll be applying those same talents to our news coverage. Chris will help make sure we live up to our mission of covering Rye thoroughly, fairly, and accurately.”
Marshall will oversee The Record’s coverage of the city, schools, development, business, politics, police, fire, sports, and the environment. He’ll be working closely with editors Camille Botello and Christian Falcone.
Before joining The Record, Marshall — a Kansas native — was an editor and reporter at the Topeka Capital-Journal. Since moving east, he also has worked in financial news and book editing.
He lives in Mt. Kisco with his wife, Samantha — a Rye Record associate editor — and their two-year-old daughter, Ava.
