Andre Wolfe was sworn in as Rye’s newest firefighter at City Hall on May 8.
Born and raised in Binghamton, New York, he graduated from Binghamton High School in 2007 and attended Broome Community College. Following training at the fire academy, where he finished at the top of his class in 2021, Wolfe joined the Binghamton Fire Department as a professional firefighter and EMT.
Wolfe was active in his community through his involvement with Meals on Wheels and the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and as a coach of various youth sports teams.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Commissioner of Public Safety Michael Kopy noted that, “Andre Wolf impressed everyone as being far and away the leading candidate for the position.”
