RFD Pumped by Arrival of Engine 191
Lt. John McDwyer, Rye Fire Department senior professional firefighter, and Public Safety Commissioner Lt. Robert Falk were joined by Mayor Josh Cohn, City Manager Greg Usry, and several City Councilmembers in welcoming Engine 191 to the Locust Avenue Firehouse on June 17.
The 750-gallon pumper was built by Seagrave as part of their FASTrack program, which helps fire departments reduce cost by a third (to about $600,000) and cut delivery time by 18 months. It replaces a pumper that saw 30 years of extended duty. Engine 191 is expected to provide 20 years of service.
RFD Chaplain Rev. Andrea Raynor was on hand to bless the fire engine – with holy water, not champagne.
