Last Sunday, Rye High’s Girls’ Squash team hosted the largest and most competitive Fairwest League Championship at their home courts, Lifetime Fitness in West Harrison.

Last Sunday, Rye High’s Girls’ Squash team hosted the largest and most competitive Fairwest League Championship at their home courts, Lifetime Fitness in West Harrison. Nine squads from six schools participated, including three newcomers: Manhattan’s Thurgood Marshall Academy, New Haven High School, and Staples High School in Westport.
Rye Varsity Team 1 won the A flight championship for the third straight year with a 5-2 victory over Thurgood Marshall, bringing their record to 13-1. The No. 1 player, senior Caroline Neave, and the No. 2 player, sophomore Caroline Baldwin, are undefeated. Rye Varsity Team 2 swept the final of the B flight 7-0 against New Haven High School’s B team.
Over 30 girls from Rye High School participated in the league and the day’s event.
