RowAmerica Rye turned in another outstanding showing at the 2025 Head of the Charles Regatta, fielding 12 youth crews and 69 athletes in one of the most competitive rowing events in the world. The team once again demonstrated its hallmark blend of depth, dedication, and elite performance on the water.
Facing top U.S. and international programs — some events drawing more than 80 boats — RowAmerica Rye athletes earned impressive finishes across multiple categories, outscoring every other youth rowing club.
“The Head of the Charles, along with other fall regattas, serves as a cornerstone in RowAmerica Rye’s training cycle, laying the groundwork for the winter and spring racing seasons and, ultimately, the Youth National Championships,” said Director of Rowing Marko Seramifovski.
The Girls Youth Eight A boat continued its streak of dominance, securing a fourth straight Head of the Charles title and lowering their own course record by 17 seconds. The Girls Under-17 Eight came in first in their age group and placed fifth overall among 86 boats, a remarkable result at such a competitive regatta.
RowAmerica Rye earned 15th in the Youth Double, with the team’s two entries in the Youth Fours taking fourth and seventh in their events.
For the boys, the two boats competing in the Under-17 Fours placed second and seventh, while the Coxed Quad claimed 13th, the Double took 21st, and the Youth Eights landed in sixth and 27th.
RowAmerica Rye’s legacy also thrives beyond its youth squads. This year, more than 40 alumni raced for their college programs at the Head of the Charles, underscoring the club’s lasting impact on the sport.
