The Rye boys basketball team had an easy time against an Eastchester squad that’s clearly in rebuilding mode.
Rye’s comfortable 66-41 victory Friday meant coach Tom Proudian’s starters could sit out almost the entire second half. The Eagles have played 11 games so far this season, managing only one win.
Rye junior point guard Ben Hudson led all scorers with 19 points, and junior forward Gavin McKiernan added 15 off the bench.
Greg Poli finished with 18 points for Eastchester.
Next up for the Garnets (8-3) is a matchup with a Class A opponent, hosting John Jay-Cross River (5-8) at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
