The Rye boys squash team wrapped up its season with a 6-1 win over Darien last weekend at the U.S. High School Squash Nationals, avenging a loss from earlier in February.
The Garnets went 1-2 in the Division III Nationals in Philadelphia before their last match of the tournament was cancelled due to the blizzard that arrived Sunday in the Northeast.
After a 6-0 start to the season, the Garnets lost six of their next seven matches, including a 5-2 loss to Darien on Feb. 5. But after battling injuries all season, including a lengthy absence by No. 1 player, junior captain Charlie Rodilosso, Rye returned to form down the stretch.
The Garnets finished second in the FairWest league standings, coming up just shy of a repeat title, then swept the Masters School, 7-0, to conclude the regular season.
While senior captain Philip Nemeth will graduate this spring, most of the Garnets’ top players will return for the 2026-27 season.
