Over the course of a three-month season, your team will play games that folks figure you should win. Fortunately, no victory is ever conceded before it’s earned. Until that final horn … ya nevah know.

Pelham (5-13) is having a tough season for sure. The Garnets, however, have found a nice late-season rhythm. Wednesday’s 51-40 victory over the Pelicans was Rye’s fifth win in its past six games.

In the early going, Rye (11-5) rode the Andrew Wilmarth Express, as the senior scored 10 of Rye’s 18 first-quarter points and finished with 15. By the second half, Rye’s scoring was distributed throughout much of the roster. Senior Jake Kessner led all scorers with 19 points. Seniors Rocklan Boisseau and Justin McCarthy, sophomore Ben Hudson, and junior Henry Shoemaker all converted multiple buckets.

To say that Rye is wrapping up its regular season with a bang is an understatement.

Have a peek at Rye’s final four games of the regular season, including a pair of back-to-backs:

7 p.m. Friday at New Rochelle (No. 1 ranked team in Section 1 Class AAA)
