One month into the season, Rye boys soccer is a perfect 10.
The Garnets won 6-0 Friday at Edgemont to improve to 10-0, with six games remaining on the regular-season schedule.
The Garnets were the typical rude guests at this party, winning a third straight game on the road. They scored early, and they scored late.
Senior Kasen Scarperi opened the scoring, followed by sophomore Connor Dehmer and senior Gabe Chared-Sandstrom. Scarperi scored back-to-back goals to earn the hat trick, then Felix Wismer notched Rye’s six goal. Wismer and junior Harrison Zimmer had two assists apiece, with Sam Collins and Keegan O’Brien setting up the Garnets’ other two goals.
Rye will complete its four-game road trip Tuesday in Armonk with a rematch against Byram Hills. Rye beat the Bobcats 1-0 on Sept. 24, one of just two games all season the Garnets didn’t win by multiple goals.
Rye is currently the top-ranked team in Section 1 Class A, and the No. 2 team in all of New York Class A.
