The Rye Police Department arrested a Rye Brook drunk driver after he failed a breathalyzer test while allegedly driving erratically on Midland Avenue Wednesday.

Cops responded to reports of a dangerous driver at the intersection of Midland Avenue and Sylvan Place at 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 12. When they arrived on the scene, they found Lawrence Marks, 61, obstructing the roadway with “heavy front-end damage” to his 2019 Jaguar FPC. It is unclear how the suspect damaged his SUV.

Police reported Marks blew a 0.12 percent blood alcohol content. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.

He was released from custody and issued a summons to appear at Rye City Court on Feb. 25. Police confirmed Marks had no priors.
