Rye police arrested a local 24-year-old on Thursday for trespassing, according to officials.
The Rye Police Department reported that Luigi F. Mejabarahona was booked after a call about trespassing on a multi family residence on Purchase Street.
He had allegedly entered an apartment “several times” while a 15-year-old girl was home alone. The teen apparently confronted Mejabarahona and he left the apartment. Cops then arrived and interviewed the girl and her mother before placing the 24-year-old suspect under arrest.
Mejabarahona was charged with criminal trespassing in the second degree and arraigned in Rye City Court. The man was released with a protection order for the 15-year-old girl.
He’s due back in court on April 15.
