404: The Commencement Address was delivered by New York State Assemblyman Steven Otis, a member of the Rye Country Day class of 1975.

Congratulations to the Rye Country Day class of 2018, 100-strong, who graduated June 8. These fine students were commended for their intellectual curiosity and passion.

The ceremony began with a few words from Class President Clayton Bass. Reflecting on his 14 years at the school, he said, “Although much has changed in my time here, the collaborative and generous spirit of this institution and its students has not,” he noted.

The commencement speaker, New York State Assemblyman Steven Otis, Rye Country Day School class of 1975, encouraged the graduates to use what you have learned here and the lessons you will learn in the years ahead to make contributions that have a positive impact and that make things better in ways that would not have been possible without your energy, enthusiasm, and intelligence. Use your skills to enhance the world around you.”

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the 2018 Alumni Prize. Alumni Executive Board President Scott Weiss ’96 awarded the prize to seniors Jenna Cohn and David Jensen.
