In their final regular season meet, February 9, Rye Country Day hosted the Avenues World School from New York City and posted decisive wins in every bout. The Boys’ Foil won 6-3; Girls’ Foil, 8-1; Boys’ Epee 8-1; and Girls’ Epee 7-2.

This season, three of the Wildcat teams posted winning records. Boys’ Foil and Boys’ Epee finished 9-6 and the Girls’ Epee excelled at 11-4.

In the ISFL league competition, Girls’ Epee and Boys’ Sabre came in third place; Boys’ Foil and Boys’ Epee ended up in fourth; and Girls’ Foil and Sabre in fifth place.

Coach Rue credited the leadership provided by the captains — Celeste Kelly, Biamh Kiernan, PJ Pujadas, and Josh Shapiro — for their overall success. “But I would also add that everyone on the team demonstrated exceptional drive and enthusiasm all season long.”

The season ends February 24 with the ISFL Team Tournament at Hackley School.
