On June 7, Rye Country Day School held its 144th Commencement. The eighty-five members of the Class of 2013 proceeded into the Nelson Athletic Center as family members and friends applauded.

On June 7, Rye Country Day School held its 144th Commencement. The eighty-five members of the Class of 2013 proceeded into the Nelson Athletic Center as family members and friends applauded.

The Invocation was offered by parent Rabbi Deborah Salomon, who reminded the graduates of the importance of treating others with respect and tolerance in making the world a better place. Class Speaker Matthew Swain offered words of wisdom to his classmates and bid a fond farewell to the School.
The Commencement Address was delivered by Joshua Bennett, a member of the class of 2006. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he is a recipient of a Marshall Scholarship and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Princeton. Mr. Bennett is also a spoken word poet who has performed at the Kennedy Center and for President and Mrs. Obama at the White House.
Ms. Shayla Titley, President of the Rye Country Day Alumni Executive Board, presented the Alumni Prize, the School’s highest honor, to graduates Clare McClintock and Sarah Peck.
