After a scoreless first half, the Rye girls soccer team pulled away for a 4-0 win Thursday at Eastchester.
In the first half, the Garnets played patient, persistent soccer. In the second half, they scored at will.
Senior Charlotte Keenan broke the ice six minutes after halftime, cleaning up a deflection from Shira Rand’s shot to make it 1-0. Three minutes later, Keenan doubled the lead, scoring on a shot that ricocheted off an Eagles defender.
Rye’s third goal came on a penalty kick by senior Hannah Jachman midway through the second half. Sophomore Harkin Brown put the finishing touch on the 4-0 win.
The Garnets are now 7-0-2, extending a 33-game unbeaten streak that dates back to 2024. The win sets up a showdown of undefeated teams. The Garnets, currently ranked second in New York Class A, host No. 1 Byram Hills (9-0) at 4 p.m. Saturday in Nugent Stadium.
