The Rye girls lacrosse team remained unbeaten against New York opponents, scoring the first seven goals in a 15-9 win Saturday against Yorktown.
More than half of the scoring came from an upper-class Garnet duo. Junior Mary Ebeling had five goals and three assists, and senior Beau Whaling scored four times, surpassing the 100-goal mark for her high school career.
Junior Blake Sasse also had a multi-score game, with two goals and three assists. Rye’s other scorers were seniors Annie Toulouse and Mia Howson, junior Paloma Pepper, and sophomore Emma Giannetti.
Yorktown started the season 7-1, but the Garnets made it look easy against the defending Section 1 Class B champions, holding the Huskers scoreless until the second quarter.
Rye (5-3) hosts Scarsdale at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
