After a quick reshuffling of the schedule to avoid the weekend’s forecast, the second-ranked Rye girls soccer team made quick work of Ursuline in a 5-0 road win Friday in New Rochelle.
Dynamic Rye sophomore Harkin Brown scored four goals, and freshman Cam Dawson had one. Assists in the game were awarded to Hannah Jachman, Jill DeSanto, Natalia Williams, and Charlotte Keenan.
Ursuline remains winless (0-7-1) on the season, while still-undefeated Rye improves to (5-0-2).
While Rye is looking up at the other undefeated Class A opponent Byram Hills (6-0-0), the respect this Garnets team has earned extends well beyond Westchester County.
The United Soccer Coaches of America ranks Rye as the No. 6 team in the United States.
Next up is a rematch 6:30 p.m. Monday at Pelham. The Garnets just tied the Pelicans, who are also unbeaten, in their first meeting last week.
